Jehovah Jireh means the Lord provides:
(19) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(20) Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:19-20
Isn’t it wonderful that we have a Father of Wealth? First he gives us an inheritance in his heavenly kingdom through the shed blood of Jesus his only begotten Son. Spiritual wealth is the greatest well in the world and the age to come! The more we strive for spiritual wealth the greater the contentment we will have in this present age.
However many in our day have been seduced into a false spirituality which is based in materialism. These demonically enhanced doctrines proclaim that the more one sows into the kingdom (i.e. their ministry) the more blessed one will be financially. They’re no more than con artist wearing the apparel of a minister; getting filthy rich on the ignorance of unwary prey. In fact when one gives the bible instructs us to give expecting nothing in return; charity or support is an act of selfless love not self-interest. God examines the heart of everyone; he knows their ulterior motives.
(6) But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
(7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
(8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
(9) (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
(10) Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
(11) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. 2nd Corinthians 9:6-11
The reality in modern Christianity is that many in the body of Christ are takers and not givers. In contrast to the laws of sowing and reaping they don’t believe in giving but only taking. When one has the means they need to support their church and also give to the poor and help the sick and afflicted. Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive. There is truly joy in giving according to one’s ability. Again God looks upon the heart and when we give cheerfully God promises to make all grace abound for us and provide our needs so that we excel in every good work. God knows what is purposed in the heart of the giver; grudge givers are not really liberal givers giving in the love of Christ. God blesses us according to his will for our lives; therefore the giving to get concept falls short of his will and ways. Giving out of a pure heart and giving prayerfully according to his will and purposes will reap the bountifulness of his grace and will cause us to give thanks from the joy that is incurred through selflessness.
(14) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
(15) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 1st John 5:14-15
Brethren check out the scripture concerning our confidence in God when we ask according to his will; he hears us! We then know that those things are of his will and we shall have those petitions of our desires because they line up with his revealed will for our particular lives. Selah
