PRESUMPTION IS NOT UNCTION!
(12) Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
(13) Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
(14) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 19:12-14
Thinking about life in objective terms is being honest with oneself concerning the reality of the present dynamics that are active. I am in need of revival in my own life and yet I am still anointed to do the work of God. There are many arrows of decision which are shot into mind each and every day concern the present and future. Many of the goals which I’ve intended to fulfill have fallen short and it has provoked me to wonder about hearing the voice of God. I do have a sure voice in the word of God which still has the power to produce faith in me.
Yet I ponder the past and contemplate the future. God has been good to me in spite of myself and some of the bad decisions I’ve made. I see myself in a place of being employed in the secular realm for a couple of years at least; yet I long for the days of preaching regularly through itinerate ministry. Now that I’m in my sixties my physical strength as of days gone by when I could labor for hours and still have the strength to do ministry too. It is a dilemma I face today; but I have responsibilities which ministerial income was not sufficient to supply.
Brethren; just like the psalmist I cry out “who can understand his errors?” and Lord cleanse me from secret faults keeping me back from presumption that causes me to sin through doubt and unbelief. Lord; you have given me a heart of love, and a spirit of power, and a strong mind. Father let all your children remember to use words of faith and meditations of the heart that are acceptable in your sight. Father help keep us accentuating the positive and confronting the negative with biblical objectivity, do not let it have dominion over your children. Let us remember the encouraging words of holy writ.
(3) Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
(4) Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
(5) Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
(6) And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
(7) Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalms 37:3-7
O Lord let us remember when we strive to walk upright in your sight that the infused innate joy of the Spirit will sustain us in times of trouble. O Lord let us remember that to promises and privileges of serving you come through our obedience which brings delight in you! O Lord let us remember to totally commit all our ways to you and you shall bring your perfect will to pass in our lives which brings about your righteous reigning to us and through us. O Lord let us not be distracted by the world or the riches or the greedy or the wickedness of mankind; let us be focused upon you always in everything we say and do as representatives of heaven. O Lord never let us fall short of the goals which you have set on our path because of trials, tragedies, or persecutions. Amen!
(1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
(2) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalms 91:1-2
Brethren each of us face the consequences of our decisions and actions! If we are honest we will accept our responsibility if we’ve fallen short and repent turning from our ways to his ways which are higher than ours. God has called us to conquer sin that persist to resist the will and word of God! Let us dwell in Him for He is our fortress. Let us go forward in this knowledge giving praise and glory to the Lord. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
