THE LORD WANTS REVIVAL THE WORLD WANTS REVERSAL
What are you running after? Many times we pursue things that only bring misery, pain, or heartache.
“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8 KJV)
Emotions are sometimes the products of subjectivity and conjecture and present to us imaginations which exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. A dubious person is unfocused, unfixed, and unfounded in anything. These people are on a rollercoaster of emotional unrest; their affections are spiritual or carnal, serious or sensual, heavenward or worldly depending upon which way the winds of life are blowing one minute to the next.
When a person is unstable it means they’re unable to stand the tests of life. Because they do not have resolution in themselves and they’re overcome when temptation comes. They are undecided about who they are and how they should be. They’re easily manipulated because they’re not established in their convictions.
These are the sort of people who can see everyone else’s faults and ridicule their failures; but cannot discern their own shortcomings and inconsistencies. We see a lot of wishy washy Christians who are unstable and lack a lot of permanent things and blessings because of it.
Brethren, we have in Christ a sure foundation one that will not move regardless of the fades that fade into obscurity with the pasting of time. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us be transformed and conformed to his likeness and walk in his Spirit and his Truth. When we fix our faith on him the doublemindedness will perish and give way to a courage that is back by strong unmovable conviction.
Brethren, keep the faith today by falling on your face and repenting of a double mind and pledge yourself to the principles of God which establish our faith and fortitude. Make that decision now and quit living in the realm of a mindless and meaningless motion that doesn’t establish anything but confusion. Selah
