My Strength
This old house is growing older and the roof is now a salty gray; the windows are much dimmer, the structure has thinned with age. The stoutness it once held is has begun to decline. The joints are getting stiffer with each passing day. The years have taken every bit the tow for even the outside is sagging and cracks of growing greater with never ending flow. The physical strength is now decreasing with each exceeding year; yet there is a strength so enduring that gives this house much might.
(2) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
(3) I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Psalms 18:2-3
There is no fear of death and darkness or earthly man or foe; for I serve the Great Creator who ignites my heart to glow. Selah
Brethren, there is a peace so sweet and a love so deep which strengthens the heart and comforts the mind. Trust is a bonding mechanism of our intellect it generates emotional ties that strengthens our relationship and binds our hearts to our Lord. It establishing a staging platform to build a firm foundation based upon the love and strength of God.
(3) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
(4) Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:3-4
Brethren the world with its forces is designed to undermine our faith, and as we grow older our youthfulness diminishes and our physical features and strength also lack the luster we once had; the enemy of our soul begins to assault us with attacks of fearful intimidations and suggestions of mayhem. Yet we have a God who is able to defend us and mend us and strengthen us in the day of battle. He promises to never leave us or forsake us; and he will give us supernatural strength to endure emotionally, mentally, and physically in the trying of our faith. We are who we are by virtue of our faith; if our faith is weak we shall be weak; if our faith is strong he shall strengthen our hearts and fortify our resolve.
Brethren we are not under the Old Covenant; but we have a new and living way yet we can apply what Joshua was admonished to do by hiding the word of God in our hearts!
(8) This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
(9) Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:8-9
The New Covenant makes it clear that it is imperative that we be doers of the words and not hearers only. When we do not practice what we believe we lose the strength of that supernatural supply which is activated by the word to resist and restrain from the temptations to falter in the face of the forces of the world. We’re not in a battle for physical superiority but in a spiritual warfare to win against spiritual forces set in battle array. Our outward man may physically degenerate but our inward man is renewed day by day.
(16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
(17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Ephesians 3:16-17
What you sow in your heart is what you’ll grow in your heart; once the seed sprouts the fruit is in the root and springs upward and outward to all to see. Character is one thing which is hard to hide; for it will manifest in at its weakest point of testing. We must allow Christ the Living Word to dwell in our hearts by faith and when we are tested we shall come forth as pure gold with a transparency which will not be hidden. We have a strength within which is not of us but it is of God who saved us, sanctified us, and separated us for his glory and honor.
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4:7-11
Brethren the devil will tell you that you are weak, anemic, and powerless; he will get you to look at those things around you and call you insignificant and pointless. He will attack you will waves of perplexity and persecutions to dishearten you. Yet greater is he who is in you that he who is in the world. Let us pray for that spiritual infusion of divine strength and remember the scriptures when we pray. Let us pray in the Spirit and let us pray with understanding; let us sing psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs making melodies in our hearts to praise the Lord.
(14) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
(15) Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
(16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
(17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
(18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
(19) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
(20) Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
(21) Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
Brethren I join Paul in praying for you from the above portion of scripture. I intercede with the Spirit to your benefit and that the soundness of scripture will have free course in your spiritual minds. May God increase your understanding and may he ever strengthen you in your spiritual walk in the name of Jesus! Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
