THE SUPERNATURAL ARMOR OF GOD
Is righteousness the lifestyle of the righteous in Christ? Should we sin that grace abounds? God forbid!
Why do so many who name the name of Christ; glory in their shame to the reproach of Christ? If one is redeemed their fruits will bear it and whatsoever things they do in word or deed shall glorify the Lord!
Today it’s rough but I was ready; because I reign with Christ I’m ready when it’s rough! Spiritual Warfare isn’t easy! You’ve got to armor up! Just because it’s figurative doesn’t mean it’s not effective! As Christians our armor is heaven sent and called the armor of light! It is both offensive and defensive! It is designed to protect the Christian and annoy the devil. It is the armor of righteousness designed for righteousness campaigns and for redeemed persons. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal or corporeal but spiritual; therefore our armor is spiritual for spiritual purposes in pulling down demonic strongholds. Is it the Armor of GOD.
(11) Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(12) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(13) Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13
Many of the powers that be are fueled and strengthened by the demonic powers of the devil. Hence we battle against supernatural forces of darkness. Therefore we must armor up and stand fast in the power and might of the Holy Spirit putting on every aspect of the Armor of GOD.
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Making a stand or positioning ourselves for a battle; having secured tightly the belt of truth or acknowledging that truth is our source of strength; then having for a breastplate the righteous cause of the gospel.
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Where there is an absence of fear there is a stabilization of peace; we walk in peace but do not shrink back from opposition or offence. Steady are the feet which are motivated by the love of Christ to walk in the peace of God.
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
The exhortation is “above everything” take up the shield of faith. We have God kind of faith which shields us and quenches those fiery darts aimed at our life; spirit, soul, body are protected as we set the shield of our faith in front of us; we walk by faith and not by sight.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Then the exhortation comes to put on the helmet of salvation; our battle is often a battle of conscious where thoughts can be given to imaginations which exalt themselves against the will and word of God. We are told to gird, clad, shod, guard, and cover ourselves with the whole armor of God. Thus we are armed for the battles of spiritual warfare.
God’s truth is inward to apply to ourselves and outward to be demonstrated to others. We walk in the righteousness of Christ for our own righteousness is as filthy rags. We are born of the Word and Spirit to live in righteousness.
(8) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8
Righteousness and readiness go hand in hand to fortify our faith. We live truth in private as well as public; we have a powerful mind to contend for truth in the presence of our enemies; and we have the security as a martyr in sealing the truth with our own blood. There’s no fear in perfect love and faith works through the power of love. Brethren we are at war with sin, the world, and the devil. We cannot afford to take spiritual warfare lightly. Many are falling into pernicious ways and following the way of Baalism; the love of money is rampant, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is just as much a part of the church as it is in the world. We sure need to pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
(18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:14-18
Silence is supposed to be golden; but many times silence is deadly; let us ask of God what Paul asked:
(19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
(20) For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:19-20
The church must return again to the tactics, strategies, and practices that wins battles and saves sin filled souls from Hell. The whole armor is needed and prayers and supplications are powerful when prayed in the Spirit building up our most holy faith and tearing down strongholds and strongmen!
(13) Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
(14) Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
(15) And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
(16) Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:13-16
Brethren it is time to Christian Up and Armor UP! We’ve got Kingdom business to do; and the devil is going to come in retribution against those who rob his kingdom of darkness. Again I say Christian Up and Armor Up now! Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
