BODY BUILDING
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; (Hebrews 2:3 KJV)
Mature Christians must be challenged! We cannot afford to become desensitized to the Superiority of the Lord Jesus and his message; thinking we already have sufficient knowledge. We cannot take Grace for granted or believe we cannot slow drift into spiritual non-adherence or oblivion. We must firmly grip our grace in word and in deed. In the Old Testament angels spoke through the authority of God; but Christ is the Theos-Anthropos or the God-Man having ultimate supreme authority concerning all things which pertain to spiritual life and godliness. The he speaks are spirit and life; his yea is certain and his nay is certainly a prohibition. Shall we stand in opposition or in compliance concerning his yea’s and nay’s?
I will say: though all forsake and eschew me; I have decided to follow Jesus! The path is narrow; but the choice is clear! The Lord is my Shepherd and finds me in distress when I stray; he leads me back into the path of his righteousness. What would it profit me to gain and gain; yet lose my immortal soul? I desire the true riches of righteousness; yet many times neglect the basic things which develop them. No one can afford to build upon shifting sand; we have a solid foundation.
God wants our tabernacle to become a temple; a tabernacle is designed to break down and to get carried to another designation. A temple is a permanent structure erected on a firm foundation. We must become steadfast and established in our faith. Just as the tabernacle we may have the presence of the Lord found in the Ark of the Covenant; which has to continually be put behind the veil; but when we build our spiritual temple the veil is ripped in two and we have direct continual access.
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. (Hebrews 2:1 KJV)
Jesus is the anchor of our salvation; when the storms of life blow fiercely and the waves swell high and overwhelming; we should never loosen from the anchor that holds us steady. God’s love is present even in the most hostile environment; let us recline to the secret place in our spirit; He is always there!
The Body of Christ is more of an organism than an organization! It is made up of intricate and intertwined parts which make it effective and efficient when it moves in the Spirit. The Word of God is given for the plans and purposes of building the Body of Christ and the Spirit is given to activate and empower the individual members to do the will of God in the harmony of the Spirit. Our campaign is against the flesh, the devil, and the world. We are called to be witnesses while we weld a relationship with the Lord of intimacy.
The impulsive, the imprudent, and the impracticable are those who only achieve the appearance but not the persistence of substance in establishing an enduring success in building a spiritual vision for God.
(22) Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
(23) A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
(24) The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. Proverbs 15:22-24 KJV
Wisdom and success come through deliberation or wise deference in our dialogue to the counsel of those who are wise and good. Humbly; accepting advice from the wise; this could advance us and enrich our intellect! We see the principle of being quick to hear and then slow to speak; for a word spoken at the right time is profitable and brings joy to the hearts of all involved. Those who are why tend to the things which produce holiness in their lives; in other words they’re constantly spiraling upward spiritually in their thoughts, words, and deeds.
The providential purposes of God for our lives are established in the right kind of dynamics concerning negotiations. To confer with others and come to a mutually agreement concerning establishing a purpose is to the benefit of everyone involved. Communication first needs to be micro; before it can successfully become macro. The delicate idiosyncrasy of each individual in our lives must be taken into account when it comes to our negotiable skills.
As we build the vision an assessment of each individual’s skills, ambitions, and energy must be considered. A wise builder builds a team that has those traits and skills that make the structure strong and durable; the foundation is the most important part of the structure (vision). It’s takes a team to build a dream. God appoints those who design, define, and command. Yet not without a multitude of input by those who have succeeded through the wealth of wisdom of those who have preceded them.
God is the Master Builder; I must become a Master Yielder and be transformed by the renewing of my mind through forsaking carnal concepts to employ his spiritual precepts that will result in success in first and foremost my relationship with him and then my responsibilities in his Kingdom. Selah
