WHERE IS RIGHTEOUSNESS
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalms 111:10 KJV)
We are instructed that the beginning of real wisdom is to fear the Lord! The word for fear in this verse is defined as both moral reverence and dreadful fear; which is correct concerning he who can not only kill the body but also cast it into hell. It bids me to ask in our Christianity where is righteousness?
Are we righteous because we do right or because of Christ? Who of us walks one hundred percent in the Spirit in total obedience to the mind of Christ? Are we the very thing we despise in others; hypocrisy? Let us look to Jesus more and much less to ourselves; as guides of what is righteous in the sight of God. Faith is dynamic when agape love is its driving force. The world dwells in the dark wisdom of Lucifer; but the light of God dwells in his people. However; when pride comes in the form of self-righteousness; it can deceive even some of the most spiritually inclined people. Pride steps into our hearts with pretended humility; but soon develops into a fierce deception of flaming self-exaltation which cannot be pleaded with or approached in negotiation. Pride genders haughtiness and inordinate feeling superiority which belittles others who do not measure up. Reason is trampled underfoot when pride comes; and the self-deception continues until God can intervene and humble that person. Don’t tell me how righteous you are while you’re brewing to the point of boiling in your superiority!
Real righteousness is found in a real humility before God; faith in God, love for God, and fear of God all produce real righteousness that can stand against anything that brings insult to God. We walk in the Spirit pleasing God in everything we do.
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. (Psalms 112:1 KJV)
Blessings in the Mighty Name of Jesus!
