BY FAITH NOT SIGHT
Subjectivity: relating to or being experience or knowledge as conditioned by personal mental characteristics or states.
Subjectivity is expressed carnality superimposed by the imagination which is based upon a perceived reality opposed to objective reality. It is a state of mind built upon one’s own experience which is based more upon emotion than fact. The subjective power of emotion is at the root of many things which conflict with truth. We are living in a social realm today which is fortified by mass subjectivity; and the effects have become devastating to society. When what one feels trumps the reality of truth we are most definitely in trouble.
Faith verses subjectivity; as Christians we believe in a supreme being who supersedes all things. We believe that God is able period. He created all things and by him all things consist. He is reality and we experience him through our faith and reliance upon him. In this reality we learn to sense his presence and to hear unction based upon the revelation of the word. He reveals himself through a seventh sense which is our spiritual ability to comprehend his presence and hear his voice. We develop this spiritual mind through adherence to the word of God and by praying for understanding. We ask for what we desire because our desires have been changed, we seek for what we are lacking because our hunger has been changed, we knock because we do not want to be shut out of spiritual things. Faith that is virtuous never yields to subjectivity; emotion which are fostered by a false premise. Faith stands firmly upon the word of God in opposition to emotions that are contrary to his word.
Christians walk by faith not by sight; not by emotions, imaginations, and false inspirations. The soul is enhanced when meditating upon the precepts of God who is the source of soundness! Jesus said in John 15:3 “Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you”. The word purifies the mind “sanctifies” or consecrates the mind and sets it apart for holy use! Once the word starts cleansing; spiritual growth and sensitivity to the Spirit begins. The spiritual truths of God transform and conforms us inwardly and that transpires outwardly;
(22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
(23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
(24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:22-24 KJV
In the world emotion is manufactured through the perception of reality. It is plain to see that in the world individuals have different perceptions based upon the false premises of worldly wisdom and philosophies which develop into subjective imaginary which cause them to walk in their emotions. In other words what they believe produces the emotions they have which produce the actions they take.
For Christians; the fruit of the Spirit produces true (agape) love, joy spiritual joy based upon our relationship with God, peace which passes our own comprehension, longsuffering (patience to possess our souls), gentleness (kindness towards others) goodness (good works that glorify God) faith (faithfulness to God’s precepts) meekness (virtue of character) and temperance (Spirit controlled lifestyle). Why? “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”.
The bible makes it clear; the just walk by faith, faith that is based upon a sure foundation. Jesus is our foundation and the chief cornerstone; he is the author and finisher, the alpha and omega of our faith. Let us stand upon the truth that establishes us in all our ways. Let us not look to the right or the left, but straight forward in full assurance that what Jesus initiated in us he will bring to completion! We walk by faith and not by sight! Selah! Brethren keep the faith and the faith will keep you!
