Final Conquest: A Verse-By-Verse Study of Revelation
A brand new series from Robert Jeffress.....
BACK TO THE FUTURE
Revelation 1:1 As we begin our study of Revelation, we are going to travel back in time 2,000 years to a tiny island in the Aegean Sea where the apostle John received a detailed preview of the future that awaits every human being who has ever lived.
Revelation 1:1-20 To paraphrase a great writer from yesteryear, “What comes to your mind when you think about Jesus being the most important thing about you?” Your belief about who Jesus is profoundly impacts how you live your life. Today as we look at John’s response to the “revelation” of Jesus on the island of Patmos, we will discover how that “revelation” should affect our life every moment of every day.
Revelation 2:1-11 Today we have come to the second of three major divisions in the Book of the Revelation. In Revelation 2-3, Jesus Christ is pictured as evaluating seven key churches in Asia Minor. Those reports, or “letters”, reveal what Christ values and what He abhors in congregations, as well as in the lives of those Christians who comprise those churches.
THE CHURCH THAT WAS TOO ACCEPTING…AND THE CHURCH THAT WAS TOO TOLERANT
Revelation 2:12-29 Is it possible for Christians to be too accepting and too tolerant? Our culture — which celebrates inclusiveness — would emphatically answer, “No!” But God’s Word says, “Yes” as we will see in Jesus’ message to the Christians in Pergamum and Thyatira.
THE CHURCH THAT COULDN’T DO ANYTHING RIGHT AND, THE CHURCH THAT COULDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG
Revelation 3:1-13 Not long ago, researchers asked pastors how they believed Christ would rate their churches. Less than half of one percent said Christ would rate their churches as highly effective. Forty-three percent believed He would find them respectable. However, fifty-three percent said Christ would rate their churches as having little positive impact on society. Today, we are going to look at two churches that could not have been more different: a church that couldn’t do anything right and a church that couldn’t do anything wrong.
Revelation 4:1-11 People often wonder, “What will we do in heaven every day for all of eternity?” While we will do many things in heaven, one of the central activities we will engage in is worshipping God — worship like you’ve never experienced before!
Revelation 5:1-14 Nothing happens on the earth that has not been mandated from Heaven… including the terrible events on the earth during the Great Tribulation. Today we are going to see the action in Heaven that initiates God’s final judgment against the world, culminating in the return of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 6:1 Beginning in Revelation 6, the scene shifts from what is happening in Heaven to what is about to happen on Earth — the unleashing of God’s final judgment on the earth before the return of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 6:1-17 Today we have come to the first of the series of judgments that God will pour out on the entire earth before Christ returns. The breaking of the seven seals will unleash global catastrophes unlike the earth has ever experienced.
Revelation 7:1-17 Throughout history there have been great movements of God such as the day of Pentecost, the Reformation, and the Great Awakenings. But the greatest spiritual revival the world will ever experience will occur during the final seven years of earth’s history, as we will discover today.
Next week we are going to resume our verse-by-verse study of Revelation, but today we are going to pause to gain an overview of where the book of Revelation fits into God’s prophetic plan for the world…and for you.
Revelation 9:1-21 The final three trumpet judgments represent God’s most horrific judgment against mankind. Yet the refusal of the majority of men and women to repent of their sin and turn to Christ demonstrates the hardness of unbelievers’ hearts.
Revelation 10:1-11 Although the future event we are going to examine today involving a mighty angel seems strange, far-removed from our everyday experience, it has a very practical application for each one of us who desires God’s blessing in our life.
